Buy New Wedges

Cool Clubs saw an influx in wedge sales at the beginning of the year, as golfers from far and wide were scrambling to conform to this year's USGA groove policy changes. We're still selling a lot of wedges but we're also receiving lots of phone calls about re-grooving the wedges you've been playing for years.

"As soon as we re-groove a wedge, it becomes null and void," club builder David McKee said.

McKee advises golfers to purchase new wedges because despite what most people think, re-grooving the clubs really isn't going to give them any more spin.

"In order to do that, you need to sharpen the edges instead of make them deeper, which is where people get confused."

Don't be confused and don't have non-conforming wedges! Come into Cool Clubs and purchase your USGA conforming wedges today.
Greetings!

We are getting video crazy at Cool Clubs this summer.

We've recently installed advanced V1 Digital Coaching Systems in our fitting bays, providing video technology for the first time.

If you've ever gotten a putter fitting at Cool Clubs, then you have witnessed first-hand what the V1pro technology can show you about your inside-out or outside-in putting stroke. Now, Cool Clubs is taking that machinery into its bays and delivering you the most advanced technology to analyze your swing.

"I think it'll be good to show to people how much the shaft really moves through the golf swing; how much it really flexes and bends and where it does. People will finally be able to see it because it's high enough speed to capture that. So I think as an educational tool it's good for our customers," says Mark Timms.

Not only are we offering video in our hitting bays, but we're selling portable fitting devices directly to consumers. Referred to as "Game Changers" made by Foresight Sports, these stereoscopic devices measure all critical aspects of ball flight including speed, vertical launch angle, horizontal launch angle, back spin and side spin, with accuracies unrivaled by other devices accessible to the public.

Cool Clubs is one of the first club fitters to offer video technology in our bays and sell the Game Changers directly to you. We are very excited we can provide both. We encourage you to come in and check out our new technology and invite all of our teaching pros in the Valley to bring their students in for a fitting.

SuperDeep - The newest addition to the Cool Clubs family, this driver from Taylormade has been affectionately referred to as the "510 TP on steroids." Making its debut at the Masters last month, this super deep-faced head was designed to optimize the game of accomplished players. The SuperDeep's head is 460cc and it houses two adjustable weight ports that allow golfers to unscrew the head from the shaft and then re-attach it into one of several positions to create a draw, fade or neutral bias.

Taylormade Super Tri R9 Driver - Cool Clubs' most widely sold driver, this all-black addition to the Taylormade line has a 460cc head, three movable weights and a system that allows golfers to unscrew the club head and re-attach it to the shaft in one of eight different positions. This allows up to 75 yards of left-or-right adjustability affecting launch angle and trajectory.

Callaway FT Tour Driver - This conventionally shaped, high performance driver produces extremely high ball speeds and its enlarged sweet spot allows even miss-hits to fly longer and further. Introduced in February, the club's accuracy, workability and feel is popular among the pros on Tour as well as avid amateurs.
Graphite Design Tour AD DI Shaft - The burnt orange "Tiger shaft" seen played by Woods and others at this year's Masters became an instant hit after its release in March. Designed to provide more power and stability, this mid-kick shaft is available in weights varying from 54 to 85 grams and gives golfers reason to go graphite. The shaft's tip section contains nanotechnology material that produces optimal spin and launch characteristics.

Callaway Diablo Edge/Edge Tour Fairway Woods and Hybrids - The new Diablo Edge Hybrids have been specifically designed to provide golfers a more forgiving, distance enhancing alternative to long irons. The Vertical CG Optimization uses a 30% thinner crown to help lower the center of gravity, and place it in-line where most golfers commonly strike the ball. This promotes shots that will fly far and high and land soft. The unique sole design helps create efficient impact to maximize distance and accuracy.

Scratch Wedges - These 100% custom-made, hand ground wedges seen in Scottsdale-based Ryan Moore's bag can be seen in yours now too! Made specifically for the individual based on their specifications, each wedge begins as a raw head of extra heavy, fine-grain 1018 soft carbon steel and is forged at the Ishibara foundry in Japan. Offering lofts between 47 and 64 degrees, three different toe shapes and virtually any sole grind, you can choose any taper tip shaft, any length, any lie angle, any bounce angle, any swing weight, any grip and a choice of six finishes, with a personalized stamp up to five letters and a choice of paint fill color. It's safe to say you'll be the only one in your Saturday morning foursome with a personalized wedge.

What has been your experience with Cool Clubs?

I needed clubs that were unique for my situation. I have had hip replacements and a shoulder replacement. It was an interesting experience. We were able to fine-tune and get a set of clubs that I liked and that would accommodate my swing.

Where have you seen improvement?

I've seen an improved ball-hitting capability. My scoring has improved slightly but I'm hitting the ball much better. Before, my drives averaged 200, but with the new clubs I'm averaging 225 to 230 off the tee. I think scoring will come as I get my comfortable with the whole situation.

Would you recommend Cool Clubs to your fellow golfers?

Of course! If someone is in a unique situation, like me, this is a good way to get golf clubs that make sense for oneself. From my standpoint, I feel really good about it. The whole experience was nice and they exceeded my expectations.
