Stroke PlayStroke PlayStroke Play A kind of golf competition in which players keep track of the number of strokes they take on each hole and, at the end of the round, all of the players scores are compared to determine the winner (U.S. Golf Association). The player with the lowest score on the round wins. Each player is in competition with every other player, there are no teams. Each player must fully complete each hole and must do it with just one ball, unless he gets clears it with the committee governing the competition.
